"i carry your heart with me (i carry it in
my heart) i am never without it (anywhere
i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing, my darling)
i fear
no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) i want
no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)"

Do you ever feel that the world around you is incredibly surreal? That you need to take in each moment slowly to fully understand the capacity of this earth?

She had the urge to feel the crisp breeze on her hand and the rain droplets bounce from her skin. Although she has had this experience many times before, it never ceased to amaze her.

self portrait 2010 © Emily Porter

Recently I have been trying to really look inside myself and try to express what I am feeling through my images. These are some questions I have been asking myself lately:
What/who do I live for?
What moments in life do I feel that people need to see?
Are the relationships we have the things that build who we are?....experience

This image was taken on a road trip with my boyfriend. We drove all the way to Florida in one day and then to Tennessee to finally meet his grandparents. Their home was filled with antiques and old books and art I was quite fond of. I was truly happy in this moment.
